The Sports Doctors at South Coast Sports Medicine are General Practitioners with extra training in Sports Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Occupational Medicine. They are dedicated to ongoing learning and teaching, and will push to help you to find a clear diagnosis and find you the best path to recovery. Their expertise is in managing all types of pain and injury, and managing other medical issues affecting your ability to exercise safely and comfortably. You do not need a referral to see a Sports Doctor.
Exercise Physiologists are here to get you moving, and if you are moving, then doing it better, faster, or with more enjoyment! The Accredited Exercise Physiologists at South Coast Sports Medicine are an integral part of the Sports Medicine team, with a passion for using the effects of exercise on the musculoskeletal system and the whole body to improve your health, wellness and performance.
With at least four years of University study and then a requirement to stay accredited through ongoing study, their knowledge of exercise as treatment for pain and injury, as a driver of athletic performance, as and medicine for chronic conditions is evidence-based and extensive.
Our team have varying additional qualifications in coaching specific sports and management of specific medical conditions – our friendly admin team will help guide you to the right partner in your care.
Lifestyle Medicine is “slow medicine”: medicine how it should be. Jen enjoys spending time getting to know you and helping you to find and address all the barriers between you and optimal health. It involves the application of medical, behavioural, motivational and environmental principles to the management of lifestyle-related health problems in a clinical setting, including self-care and self-management. It is a holistic model of care aimed at correcting underlying causes as well as providing symptomatic relief.

By assessing the function of bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments, your Physiotherapist can help restore normal and pain free function through treatment such as joint mobilisation, massage, exercise and continuing advice and education.
There is so much information available about what we should and shouldn’t eat, that it can be overwhelmingly difficult to work out what approach will work, especially when you are not feeling your best or have specific needs.
Kate and Emma can assist with all aspects of nutritional treatment, including food intolerances, irritable bowel syndrome, eating plans, sports nutrition and guidance to a healthier lifestyle.
