Our aim is to empower people in the Great Southern to realise their best health through an integrated approach to support self-management.

We are the provider of choice for sports medicine, integrative medicine, injury management, exercise rehabilitation and physical activity interventions. Rowing is a sport with requires a high level of power over a set period. Most of the power comes from the drive of the legs, while maintaining stability through the trunk to transfer to the oar.

To become a better rower it is essential that we break down the movement patterns to develop the different movements as required.

A deadlift is a great way to develop posterior chain muscular. A bent over row requires trunk stability while performing a rowing movement and this truck stabilisation exercise test the 'core' muscles to reduce weakness.

It is common for individual that spends an extended period sitting to have increased tightness through the mid to upper back and is commonly coupled with low back pain and/or neck and shoulder pain.

There are a number of simple mobilistaion exercise with can be performed to improve range of motion and reduce pain through these areas.

This mobiliser activities aim to improve range of motion in a number of planes ensuring the thoracic spine and surround muscles can work as intended.

Women’s Health Week

Breastfeeding or bottle feeding for 1 year is approximately 1800 hours. A full-time job is 1920 hours per year.
For all those Mumma’s with upper back and neck tightness, take 5 minutes to look after you. Whether
breastfeeding or bottle feeding, here are some stretches and tips to help improve your posture and give you
some relief:

Thoracic extension on a foam roller or rolled up towel – great to balance out the time spent in a hunched,
flexed posture. You can lay here for as long as is comfortable, 1-5mins for a strong chest and back stretch!
Add in some arm openings for a dynamic stretch, slowly opening one arm out at a time.

Feeding posture correction – bring your baby up to the breast/bottle rather than breast/bottle down to baby!
This can be achieved by supporting your baby on pillows/cushions, whilst ensuring your lower and upper back
are supported against a chair.

Lower back and hip stretch – sitting for prolonged periods can result in lower back and hip flexor tightness. By
rotating your knees with your feet shoulder width apart, you are simultaneously stretching your lower back
and opening your hips. This can be repeated 5-6 times each side, add in your pelvic floor exercises for bonus

An Integrated Medical Practitioner provides a holistic model of care that incorporates medical, behavioural, motivational and environmental principles in the management of lifestyle-related health problems.

Massage can provide a reduction in muscle tension and improves blood circulation as well as being a form of relaxation and stress relief.

Our physiotherapist services include expert assessment, accurate diagnosis and treatment of work, recreation or sport-related injuries…

Our nutritionist can assist with all aspects of nutritional treatment, including food intolerances, irritable bowel syndrome, eating plans, sports nutrition and guidance to a healthier lifestyle.

Our naturopath uses an evidence-based approach to use Herbal Medicine in a way that has an immense therapeutic benefit for our clients.
