VO₂ Max & Peak VO₂ Testing: Unlock Your Cardiovascular Health

Cardiovascular fitness is one of the strongest predictors of long-term health and quality of life. VO₂ max and peak VO₂ testing measure your body’s ability to use oxygen during exercise, providing a powerful insight into your cardiovascular fitness.

VO₂ max represents your maximum oxygen uptake, while peak VO₂ reflects the highest oxygen consumption achieved during a submaximal test. These easily assessable metrics are key indicators of endurance, heart and lung efficiency, and overall health.

A higher VO₂ max is associated with lower risk of heart disease, improved metabolic function, and greater physical resilience. By understanding your cardiovascular fitness levels, you can tailor your training, optimise performance, and enhance overall well-being—helping you stay active, energetic, and healthy for life.

Our submaximal VO2 Peak testing can be done walking on a treadmill with a gradually increasing incline, or on an exercise bike with a gradually increasing resistance. The test aims to reach approximately 80% of your maximum heart rate and typically takes about 6 minutes.

VO2 Max testing is performed using a portable face mask and collects your expired air while you are either peforming a graded treadmill or bike test or a time trial or exercise session out in the real world.
