Dr. Jen Graham-Taylor

Dr Jen is a General Practitioner with a holistic approach to health and medicine, and a passion for lifelong learning which has led her to gain postgraduate qualifications in Sports, Nutritional, and Occupational Medicine.

Jen graduated from UWA in 2000, and in the subsequent ten years gained extensive experience in Emergency Medicine, Occupational Medicine and various hospital-based specialties. She qualified as a General Practitioner in 2013 and completed her Master’s degree in Sports Medicine in the same year. Jen has experience in most aspects of sports medicine including event coverage, acute injury and fracture management, and enjoys working with patients with chronic injuries or illnesses who want to stay active.

Occupational Medicine and Workers Compensation are areas of interest for Jen, where she aims for excellent communication and holistic multidisciplinary team-based injury management. She completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Medicine in 2017. She has had training in workers compensation and injury management, ergonomics, and many types of medical assessments including rail medicals.

Jen has a passion for lifestyle medicine, preventative health and behaviour change. She gained Fellowship of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine in 2017. She has completed training in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine, is a Biobalance practitioner and a member of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and the Australasian College of Sports and Exercise Physicians.

When Jen is not at South Coast Sports Medicine she works in the Emergency Department at Albany Hospital.

Jen moved to Albany in 2012 with her husband and two young children. She is a keen musician, an ex-elite mountain biker, orienteer and adventure racer, has completed half-ironman triathlons and still enjoys cycling and other outdoor sports in her spare time. She is a founding member and committee member of the local orienteering club.

Dr. Russell Young

Russell graduated from Manchester University in the UK in 1997 and moved to Australia in 2002 after basic surgical training in Yorkshire. He qualified as a General Practitioner in 2012 and became a Specialist in Emergency Medicine in 2012. He completed his Master’s Degree in Sports and Exercise Medicine in 2015. He has been in Albany since 2012 working between General Practice and Emergency work at Albany Hospital. He became Director of the Emergency Department in Albany in 2016.

Russell is very interested in acute injury work, non-operative Orthopaedics, sports team medical cover and exercise promotion. He set up the fracture clinic in Outpatients at Albany Hospital in 2014 and ran a trial at Pioneer Health comparing two different types of exercise advice in 2014. He has previously been the doctor for a number of road cycle races, was Bunbury Turf Club’s Supervising Doctor from 2010 to 2013 and Team Doctor for Hull City in the English Premier League for the season 2008-09.

When not working, Russell is an avid golfer playing off single figures at Albany Golf Club. He is a keen runner and is developing Triathlon and Orienteering skills in Albany, being a member of both clubs. He played association football for UWA between 2003-12 and is considering a come-back for a Veteran team in Albany. His dream is to transfer his love of sport to his two small children.

Dr Andrea Guenther

MRCGP UK, FRACGP
Integrative GP with special interest in Medicinal Cannabis and Women’s Health

Andrea has been working as a GP in WA since 2018 and in Scotland from 2000- 2018.
She has trained in women’s health in Scotland and worked at the Centre for Integrative Medicine in Glasgow, Scotland.
Since 2023 she has been training and consulting at a medicinal cannabis clinic, after discovering the benefits of medicinal cannabis treatment with her patients.

Dr Michelle Henderson

Michelle has an interest in all aspects of health and well-being, viewed through the lens of gut microbiome mapping and utilises continuous glucose monitoring technology to gain deeper insights an individual’s metabolic health. She is passionate about mindful, compassionate approaches to self care, and integrating holistic therapies where appropriate.

Hafiz Naeem

With over 18 years of international physiotherapy experience, Hafiz is passionate about helping people recover, move better, and reach their physical best. He has worked with elite athletes across the globe, including as Lead Physiotherapist for the Pakistan Cricket Team and Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League.

Now based in Albany, Hafiz supports people of all ages with expert, personalised care. Outside work he enjoys keeping active and healthy with cricket, gym training and long walks.

John Toomey

With over 15 years experience in the health & fitness industry, including personal training, and facility management, he managed a successful exercise physiology business in Albany for 4 years before becoming part-owner and director of South Coast Sports Medicine. John followed his Bachelor of Science with a Masters degree in Exercise Rehabilitation and a Diploma of Education.

John has special interests in corrective exercise for posture and core strength, rehabilitation of chronic and overuse injuries, sport-specific biomechanical assessment and running gait analysis and improvement. He is a Corrective Exercise Specialist, Community Running Coach, Orienteering Coach and Triathlon Coach. In his spare time he is an active member and committee member of several local sporting clubs and spends time being active outdoors with his young family.

John is a former professional-licensed triathlete and elite orienteer and has extensive experience in running, mountain biking, road cycling, surf lifesaving, paddling and adventure racing and has previously gained coaching qualifications in volleyball, badminton and hockey.

Jake Duperouzel

Originally from York, Jake moved to Perth to complete his study. He graduated from Edith Cowan University with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science as well as Exercise and Rehabilitation Science. During his studies, Jake had exposure to a broad range of conditions including metabolic, cardiorespiratory, neurological and musculoskeletal providing exercise for both treatment and management. During his time working within the Albany and Denmark community Jake has developed interest in working with the elderly and neurological conditions.

Jake enjoys the outdoors, surfing and cycling. Over the past years Jake has traveled interstate and overseas to coach and compete, representing Australia and WA for water skiing.

Marc See

Marc is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist with 11 years’ experience, working mostly with runners and other endurance athletes of all levels. He has a special interest in running related injuries and gait analysis/retraining. He is an experienced runner who was only the 5th person in WA to run a sub-4 minute mile! Marc moved to Albany in 2021 and is looking forward to working with the local community.

Stacey Rogers

Stacey grew up in the central wheatbelt town of Cunderdin, where her family still farms. She has had a keen interest in sports and outdoor activities from a young age, and continued this sporting involvement whilst at boarding school in Perth.

Intuitively, given her active and sporting background, Stacey was driven to pursue a health and sports orientated career. Attending Curtin University and completing her Physiotherapy degree in 2007, Stacey then went on to work for Lifecare in 2008 – gaining private practice and Pilates instructing experience.

Stacey then returned a rural setting at the end of 2009, extending her private practice experience and Physiotherapy knowledge by taking on Right Move Physiotherapy in Merredin in 2012. As the owner and principle practitioner, Stacey gained significant experience in the musculoskeletal and sporting fields, with involvement at numerous sporting clubs and levels over the past 7 years.

Stacey has completed certification in Pilates Instruction and Anatomical Acupuncture, and has completed a Lyn Watson Level 1 Shoulder Course and a Sports Level 1 Course. She is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the Sports Physiotherapy Association.

Stacey is now in her 10th year of practice, and her passion for sport and exercise has motivated her relocation to Albany and employment at SCSM. Stacey is very excited at the opportunities ahead, as she has a keen interest in injury management and rehabilitation, with a strong focus on education and strategies addressing injury prevention.

Always striving to learn as a clinician, Stacey is looking forward to combining her knowledge and passion to assist athletes and patients in achieving their ultimate level of function, health and wellness.
