Kate graduated from the Australian Institute of Holistic Medicine in 2009 with an Advanced Diploma of Western Herbal Medicine and went on to complete a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) at Endeavour College of Natural Health. Kate is an active member of the Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia and is registered with the Australian Register of Naturopaths and Herbalists.
Changing diet and lifestyle habits can be overwhelming to say the least, however, Kate likes take on a teaching & coaching role in each consultation, aiming to empower her clients to take responsibility of their health, in a manageable and practical way that helps form long lasting beneficial habits.
Kate’s evidenced-based approach enables her to use Herbal Medicine in a way that satisfies her love for science and has an immense therapeutic benefit for her clients. She prefers to use food as medicine, only prescribing supplemental nutrition when very necessary.
In the past, Kate has consulted in private practice in Perth and in conjunction with pharmacies in Esperance and Newman. Working in remote areas like these means that Kate has developed experience in all areas of health, rather than specialising in anything specifically. When she’s not at South Coast Sports Medicine, Kate has an important role in a local pharmacy to help clients understand the advantages and interactions of using natural and pharmaceutical medication together. She firmly believes these two branches of medicine need to work together to achieve true health and longevity.
In her spare time, Kate frequents the SCSM clinical exercise studio, loves hiking and stand-up paddle boarding. Most mornings, you will spot her in the corner of her favourite cafe with a short mac and nose-deep in research.
